Ephesians 2:17 He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.
Jesus did not come to cause problems and keep people apart; He came to share His peace and encourage us to live together in harmony.
No matter how far we are physically, emotionally or spiritually from God, Christ and the Holy Spirit; He came to bring us closer together and closer to Him.
Put down the things which are causing you stress and strain in your life and allow Christ to guide you to a more peaceful life with Him!

Romans 11:11 Again I ask: did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious.
Have you ever thought you have done too much wrong for God to even look at you?
God knows exactly where you are in life right now and He is still reaching down to give you a hand up!
God knows when you trip and fall and wants to pick you up each time – but we need to accept that help instead of constantly rejecting it through fear!

Hebrews 9:14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!
When the people of the Old Testament offered the blood of various animals in sacrifice, it was to ceremonially cleanse them of their sins.
In others words, this was to allow others to see they were willing to be washed by blood because God wanted that.
When Jesus paid for our sins with His own blood, it was a final and permanent sacrifice to cleanse our bodies and souls once and for all!

Psalm 24:7 Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
The temple gates were huge and magnificent and probably very hard to open each time a person wanted to come in or out.
They probably had a small secondary gate or door which could be opened up to allow people in and out – but for someone like a king, the whole gate would be opened up fully!
God is saying we are as important as our king, King Jesus, who is stepping forward to invite us in, personally.
God say we should expect the whole gate to open because we are His children.

Luke 14:24 I tell you, not one of those who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.
We all have been invited to a banquet with Christ in heaven; if we want to attend it, then we need to accept the invitation before it’s too late!
If the party starts and we have not replied to the invitation, it’s too late!
God has given us all the time we need to accept Christ’s invitation, but one day it will be too late if we have not accepted...

Luke 14:26 If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters – yes, even their own life – such a person cannot be my disciple.
Don’t think of these words as meaning “love a little less” instead of “hate” because that detracts from the true meaning of these words.
Christ is talking to the masses here and using these words to tell people one of the biggest obstacles to loving God is the so-called love some of us think of to do with families...
God wants us to love everyone, including friends and families, but to love them with Christian love and not family feud style “love!”

Psalm 27:14 Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
How many times have you called out to God to help you in the past?
How many of those times did you stop and wait for God to answer before rushing off and doing something else?
God wants to commune with us – which means we need to talk to Him, but also need to stop and wait for Him to talk back to us through whatever means He takes!

Psalm 98:4 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music;
How do you go about showing people you are happy about something?
How do you go about showing people you know someone famous?
How do you go about showing people you love them?
Are you willing to combine all of those ways to tell people about Jesus?

Luke 16:13 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
Jesus warns us about the love of money in many places, both through parables and directly.
It is not money which is evil, but the love of it which is... If we run after money more than we run after God, then we are putting God after our riches...
Why not try give someone in need a boost instead of saving up to buy something you are yearning for?

Psalm 62:10 Do not trust in extortion or put vain hope in stolen goods; though your riches increase, do not set your heart on them.
How easy it is to forget God when we gain money or other riches from unexpected places!
God loves us and we take advantage of this by always asking for protection when things are bad; how often do we turn back and thank Him when times are good?
Take time today to thank God for anything you have in your life and praise Him for being able to have Him in your life!

John 17:18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.
Jesus faithfully recounts His ministry to His Father in Heaven; how often do you lift up what you have done to God?
The more we can remind ourselves of what we have done, or the chances we have missed out on, the more we can do better next time!
God wants us to be honest and open with Him. If we are finding things hard, we need to pray for help. If we are doing great, we need to remind ourselves of what we do by lifting it up as a prayer to God!

Psalm 34:6 This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.
This says it all! When we call out to God, He hears us! It does not matter whether we are the rich person sitting on great piles of wealth or the poorest person drowning in debt, God hears you when you pray!
He wants us to acknowledge the troubles we are in. He wants us to call out to Him for help!
He wants to answer our prayers just as He has promised to do so – so call out for help now!

Psalm 82:2 How long will you defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked?
How many times will you go off to do something else instead of going to church?
How many times will you save your money, just in case, instead of helping someone in need?
How many times will you support the wicked because they will give you a good report?
Stop. Face Christ. Turn your back on the evils of the world...

Psalm 119:92 If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.
Think about these words for a minute or two – if we did not know the love of Jesus and the peace which comes from knowing Him, how would we survive in this world!
We are surrounded by many people who do not know Jesus and we can see how they are being overrun by their own feelings – feelings of fear, inadequacy and dread.
The love and support we get from Christ takes all that away from us and allows us to live a more productive and fulfilling life while so many struggle...

Luke 17:27 People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.
Jesus tried to warn people they should be ready for when He returns. Just as they should have been ready when He came the first time!
Just as they should have been ready when Noah had to intervene and tell the world it was about to get flooded because they had left God behind...
Stop and take account of how you should be living with God in your life – not as an afterthought, but an active and real part of your life!

3 John 1:8 We ought therefore to show hospitality to such people so that we may work together for the truth.
How do you treat people you don’t know? How many Christians have you unknowingly offended by saying the wrong stuff?
If we don’t know people, we don’t know if they are Christians or not! How do we know which ones to encourage or introduce God to?
The simple answer is to do what Jesus has taught us and to love one another – this way you will always include people in what you are doing for God and they can include you in what they do for Him!

Psalm 16:2 I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.”
No matter what we have in our lives, no matter how rich or how powerful, nothing can compare to having Christ in your life!
It is only after you have experienced having Christ in your life that you see how awesome it is – before then you are just another doubter!
The psalmist found out having God in their lives was the best thing in the world – believe it and try it!

Matthew 7:6 Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.
You may have heard God’s word being described as more precious than silver or gold... it is; but don’t stop sharing it!
It is not our tasks to convert people; rather we should be introducing them to the Gospel and allowing Christ to work in their hearts.
Our words and ways will always fall short of God’s words and ways; so use God’s Word to reach out to other people instead of your ways!

Psalm 11:7 For the Lord is righteous, he loves justice; the upright will see his face.
If we are willing to draw close to God, we will get to see His face in everything we do!
God watches over us and walks with us every step of our lives... but we don’t always see Him.
If we are walking the right way, but facing the wrong direction, we will not see God.
If we are walking the right way, but close our eyes, we will not see God!

Psalm 103:20 Praise the Lord, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word.
If the mighty angels are called upon to praise the Lord, then what are we doing about it?
We are lower than the angels so should be praising God even more – we should be obeying Him even more!
The angels knew what the best thing to do was, and that was to praise the Lord.
Let us follow their example and praise His Holy Name!
