Most may well have been about money, pride and your own selfish desires.
God wants us to be honest and open about our feelings so we can learn to love others like Jesus loves us.
Leave behind the worldly desires and pride and focus a bit more on Christ today!

If we are willing to humble ourselves before God, He is willing and faithful to build us up in front of others!
How many times have you tried to show you are good in front of other Christians... and failed because something went wrong!
How many times have you succeeded in something because you gave it over to God instead of trying to prove you can do it?
Be honest with God and allow Him to build you up in front of others!

Proverbs 3:7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.
When you do something wrong, how many times do you try to cover it up by bending the truth, failing to admit it or just plain lies?
God wants us to leave this way of living behind and to look to Him for guidance in wisdom and love.
He wants us to trust in Him and to obey what He asks so we can have the best chance at getting our lives right this time!

Romans 2:1 You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.
How many times have you told someone they need to forgive and forget, then go home and get mad at someone else for not doing things?
If we could be honest with ourselves all the time, we would let go of the things we hold on to and forgive ourselves as well as forgiving others.
Yes, we do have to forgive ourselves just as we do forgive others. Without that, we hold on to the very things we try to let go of...

It is not just up to us humans to give praise and honour to God... Everything in Heaven and earth should be praising God, always!
We can read of many occasions when the Heavenly Host sung out to praise God and people heard it.
Take a look around you and imagine all of nature praising God – because it literally does!

Luke 9:6 So they set out and went from village to village, proclaiming the good news and healing people everywhere.
What would it take for you to go and tell someone about Jesus? Would you have to be paid, would you need a car, would you need a church hall?
We often get too caught up in how we are going to do things and lose focus on why we are doing things for Christ.
Spend a bit more time listening to God and seeing what He actually wants you to do rather than trying to please Him with what you think He needs!

James 5:17 Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.
How much do you concentrate for your prayers? Do you just ask for the first thing which pops into your head, or do you meditate on things before asking God for stuff?
A lot of the time we may get caught up in the moment and call out to God in desperation – God still answers our prayers...
But if we stop to think about things before asking God for stuff, we may well be able to ask for things which matter more!

When we plea for help from God, He often answers our prayers in ways we don't understand – until we meditate on why...
God will answer our prayers with what we need and not what we desire!
Humble yourself to accept the answers to prayer He gives you and not to be too proud to just ask for help!

How often have you gone and tried something because you thought God wanted that – only to find out it was a failure?
I know I have tried various things as part of my mission for God; but the ones where I waited on God instead of 'having a go' were the ones which were more likely to succeed rather than those I had a go with!
God wants us to listen to Him so He can show us the best way forward for His work.

Genesis 28:12 He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.
I wonder if you have stood at the bottom of a very long escalator or staircase and wondered what was at the top...
There is always something new to see in our lives and often getting to the top of stairs we can see more and further.
God is giving us so much in our lives, but we have to trust Him and climb the stairs to see what He is giving us...

If we can get over the fact we don't know everything and accept God does know everything, we can move forward with Him!
Try to accept Jesus not only knows you from the inside, but He wants what is best for you.

Luke 10:25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. ‘Teacher,’ he asked, ‘what must I do to inherit eternal life?’
Don't hold your doubts in your heart or in your head... no matter how much earthly knowledge we gain, it is ok to doubt stuff!
Bring things to God and He will put someone in your life to help you with your doubts – it may surprise you!
Hold on to your faith and allow God to do His work so you can continue depending on Him.

Psalm 8:4 what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?
If we think of all the things in this world which God has created, we will come to the same conclusion as the Psalmist here – why does God care so much for us?
When I look up at the sky with a telescope, I see so many more things I cannot see with my naked eye – so many wonders!
Yet, God cares so deeply for us He allowed His Son to come and pay for our sins with His life!

Hebrews 1:5 For to which of the angels did God ever say, ‘You are my Son; today I have become your Father’? Or again, ‘I will be his Father, and he will be my Son’?
Both in the Old Testament and in the New Testament we see how God called Jesus His Son and this was witnessed by various people who faithfully passed those words on to us.
God chose to do things the way He did because He knew we would continue to fall short of the mark every day.
Continue to trust God's Word and believe in Jesus Christ and He will continue to look out for you and make sure you join Him in Heaven!

Ephesians 5:13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible – and everything that is illuminated becomes a light.
What happens to the moon when the sun shines on it? We see it as a bright light at night!
What happens when you allow Christ's light to shine on you? Will others not see a bright light in the dark?
Don't think you are the light – it is Christ reflecting off of you – as long as we stand firm in the light!

Ephesians 3:19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
The closer we get to God, the better our relationships with others get, not because they are Christians as well, but because we try to live by God's love in our lives!
God wants us to share this love Christ shared with us – we need to draw on this love in everything we don in our lives.
We may not be able to understand the depth of Christ's love for us, but if we aim to have that love with others, life would be so much better for all!

Psalm 103:19 The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all.
When we see similar words at the beginning of the Lord's Prayer, we don't often go back to our Old Testament to see where they come from...
Jesus based all He taught on the words God had already given the Israelites through the prophets and kings...
We need to reconcile both 'halves' of our bibles to see the whole picture Jesus was trying to teach us. Don't ignore parts of the bible because you think they are too difficult to read!

Luke 11:3 Give us each day our daily bread.
The disciples were lucky enough to learn a lot from Jesus as He taught them; but I'm pretty sure they learned a lot more living their lives afterward.
We don't have to shut ourselves away from the world in order to learn about God!
If we can identify what God does in the world around us, then we can learn a lot more about Him through our daily lives!
