Isaiah 43:8 Bring out the blind people who have eyes, And the deaf who have ears.

Are you deaf and blind? I’m not talking about being physically deaf and blind but spiritually deaf and blind?

Too many things in our lives detract us from God and His ways; we run off and do our own things which makes us look like we are deaf and blind.

The world may not see us as deaf or blind because this is the world we live in, but God and other Christians will see it in us.

Open you heart and soul to Christ and live with Him.

Isaiah 48:6 You have heard; See all this. And will you not declare it? I have made you hear new things from this time, Even hidden things, and you did not know them.

Do you want to hear from God? Do you want Him to guide you every step of the way? Do you want Him to comfort you?

I’m sure you answered yes to at least one of the above – yet so many of us refuse to listen to God when He does speak, guide and comfort.

We are too stiff-necked, too proud, too suborn. We think we can do it all and we continue to fall flat on our faces.

God has given us the complete Gospel – we need to believe it, trust it, digest it and continue to uphold it for it to be effective!

Matthew 24:25 See, I have told you beforehand.

How many times do you have to be told something before you start believing it? Chances are you will give a different answer for each person who asks.

Jesus had to tell the people a varying amount of times before they would start listening; the more they got to know Him the less they should have had to tell people.

Unfortunately, life does not always work like this. When we are attentive we listen. When we are tired we ignore things.

But when we trust we tend to short cut things and believe quicker. Is it therefore all about trusting God?

Matthew 28:6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

I’m not going to say “I told you so!” But I think Jesus would have loved to have gone round to each of the disciples and said it!

I’m sure the angel had great delight in showing up and telling the people as they came to the tomb that Jesus had already risen.

We serve a risen Lord. We serve a God who keeps His promises. We serve a God who loves us more than we realise and keeps on loving us throughout everything in our lives.

John 2:19 Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”

After clearing the physical temple of all the people who had treated it with disrespect and ignoring God, Jesus gave these words to His disciples.

The temple He was talking about was not the physical building but rather at His body; but this would not come to light until much later.

Jesus was keeping to the promises made many years ago and was at this time promising something which would come a few years later.

Trust in a God who always fulfils His promises!

1 Kings 8:27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You. How much less this temple which I have built!

When Solomon built the grand temple which His father David had planned, He knew it was not really big enough for God to live inside but this was all happening to give God the glory.

Solomon did not throw it all away just because he thought God could not fit inside the box; instead he continued to build the temple and finally blessed it with a very big celebration.

How much are you going to give to God, not physically, but in your worship time?

Acts 7:48 However, the Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands, as the prophet says:

We cannot build anything with our own hands which is grand enough for God to live in.

These words go back to the prophet Isaiah who had words from God describing heaven as God’s footstool! Whereas Heaven to us is a rather large place where we will get to live for eternity.

Don’t try and make God fit into your world but rather try to make your ways fit in line with God’s ways – it will be a whole lot easier!

Isaiah 65:3 A people who provoke Me to anger continually to My face; Who sacrifice in gardens, And burn incense on altars of brick;

Many times in the Old Testament we find the prophets having to give harsh words to the people to remind them of who God is!

Despite all of the history and how the Jews tried to ensure God’s Word was always remembered, many times the prophets came back with words like these.

This is not limited to history books or ancient times; we are much the same still. We continue to make things happen according to our own ways and leave God out of it.

Make sure you try to include God in everything you do!

Matthew 5:11 Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.

When Jesus was speaking these words He was talking to the disciples and warning them they should not expect to be kept safe from all reproaches in life just because they were disciples.

Bad things will not just be people hitting you or other physical things, they come in words and actions which bring emotional ill feelings as well.

The evil one will use any and every opportunity to discredit things we do in the name of Christ. We need to be careful and be alert at all times and trust God for direction.

James 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials

It may sound strange to say it is a good thing when we fall into temptation; but the temptations being talked about here are not those which bring you grief and trouble.

If you find yourself being targeted by others because you are upholding or promoting the Gospel, then that is a good thing.

It means you are being noticed and others who do not want the Gospel promoted are the ones making things happen right in front of you to see if they can trip you up!

1 Timothy 6:9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.

It is sad to see how much money can corrupt many people. I have seen it far too often as well, be it with a few dollars or pounds to a win on the lottery or other windfall; people change when they get money.

I know I changed when I started earning a fair wage for work; but I am glad I saw how much it was affecting the people around me and moved on with God instead.

I have nothing against money because money is not evil; it is what people do with it and how they treat it which makes us think of it as evil.

Try share everything today.

Psalm 119:36 Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to covetousness.

A simple prayer to ask God to continue to help us in getting to know and understand the bible; a heartfelt prayer to ask for what is righteous and not to give in to temptations and desires.

God made our hearts and souls to seek Him and to find out what is right; man defiles this by seeking his own desires.

In order to give us the best opportunity to get to know God and to know what it means to love Him half as much as He loves us, we need to know His side of the story.

Stop the world and look to God instead for today!

Exodus 20:17 “You shall not covet your neighbour’s house; you shall not covet your neighbour’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbour’s.”

How many times have you looked at another house and wished you had a house like that? Is it so wrong to wish for a better house?

We need to be able to control our desires so we do not turn our backs on God or our friends just to get those desires fulfilled!

God does not want us to focus on the things of this world. He would rather we focus on the things of heaven where we know nothing on this earth will be able to compare with it.

We may not have oxen, donkeys or servants, but we sure do have enough electronic gadgets to distract our desires! Be careful out there.

Ephesians 4:28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labour, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.

We all have times in our lives when we do the wrong things. When we do, we need to face up to what we have done wrong and accept that we will have repercussions in our lives.

But just because we have done something wrong does not mean we should be trapped in a cycle of wrong-doing of trapped in our old ways.

Christ came to set us free from our old ways and from our sins. He came so we could have a new life with Him and not be afraid of what has happened in the past any more.

Trust Him and live!

Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Each one of us has been created unique. We are all different. Even twins have some tiny difference between themselves.

But even though we are different, God created us to be able to worship Him; to live for Christ and with Him.

He created us so we can do good works and behave as we should. He would not have asked such things of us unless He knew we could do it!

Be with Christ and listen to His ways.

Psalm 145:9 The Lord is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works.

God chose the Jews but He continues to extend His love to all people who are willing to admit He is King of Kings, Lord of Lords and Jesus Christ is our Saviour.

Jesus laid down His own life for our sins, whether we are Jews, Gentiles or whatever we like to call ourselves. Each one of us can call on Him to be Saviour and King.

His mercy extends to all people who are willing to admit Him as Messiah, Saviour, Son of God.

Bring Jesus into your life and He will make sure you are part of His.

Psalm 145:8 The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy.

No matter how far you got this week, no matter how far short of the goal you got, God is still pleased you are here now, reading this!

God wants to be close to us and wants to show us His love in no uncertain terms; we just have to try and stay close and listen!

Don’t get upset thinking God will never come for you because you have been so naughty this week. Don’t get despondent because of your failings.

God wants to lift you up now because it has been a week of bringing Him praise and glory!

Psalm 145:7 They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness, And shall sing of Your righteousness.

How many prophets have told us of the glories of God? How many kings have told us about their awesome God?

No matter how small and insignificant we are, no matter how big and important we are, God has a special place in His heart for each one of us.

It’s Sunday. Stop a while and listen in a church near you are someone tries to show you how awesome God is for them.

Now it’s your turn…

Psalm 145:6 Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, And I will declare Your greatness.

Stop and ask someone today what God has done in their lives.

Be prepared to stop for a while because some people will notice everything He does and will want to continue to talk for a while!

If you are alone then stop and read some of the awesome things God did for the Children of Israel as they went through the desert.

Moses has told us all about God and what He did for them!

Psalm 145:5 I will meditate on the glorious splendour of Your majesty, And on Your wondrous works.

Ok, it is almost the end of the week so start thinking about all He has done this week so far!

Don’t say He has done nothing just because it has not gone your way; think carefully and see what He has done.

Just maybe He has made things happen this way to make sure you see the truth!

Don’t stop praising God. Don’t stop lifting up His name. Don’t give up because it’s Friday!
