Luke 19:40 “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”
We need to make sure the world knows how we feel about Christ! We need to make sure people hear what we need to say about Him!
When Jesus entered Jerusalem for the final time, it was a start of something very special. People needed to make a noise and shout about it because this was their last chance!
God wants us to lift up our voices and make noise. He wants to hear His people shout about His name… If we don’t, He will make the earth do it instead!
Nothing can stop God – but we can certainly make a noise to support Him and allow others to see His glory too.

Luke 22:3 Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve.
The evil one is trying to get into our hearts just as he did at this time with Judas Iscariot. He does not have to physically climb into you or to possess you as a spirit… He just has to corrupt your heart a little…
When the corruption starts to set in, the downward spiral starts and goes very quickly. Just like getting onto a big slide, you start and you cannot stop until you hit the bottom!
Jesus wants us to be aware of these slides and wants us to know exactly where they will lead. He has warned us through His Word many times and continues to do so.
Don’t be a Judas and get caught out!

Luke 21:33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
We have seen the words written about what happened over those few days back when Christ was crucified, buried and rose again, but how many of them do you listen to?
Just as Jesus tried to tell the disciples about what was to come, warning them and giving them time to think, He does the same for us.
But, this time, we have history recorded as well as Christ’s words of what is to come. The bible has existed right from the very earliest manuscripts and will continue to be passed around, albeit electronically nowadays!
Listen to and learn from God’s Word!

Matthew 28:10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”
Jesus wanted all the disciples to be together so He could have words with them… but getting them together could have been difficult!
Would you believe what seemed to be a ghost? Would you believe it is someone came back from the dead? Often it is not until we see a miracle that we do believe it and Jesus knows we think like that!
He made sure the right people would see Him before this meeting to ensure they would all be there to hear what He had to say.
We need to listen to our awesome God because He is trying to tell us something!

Matthew 27:66 So they went and made the tomb secure by putting a seal on the stone and posting the guard.
When you have been pushed a bit far and lied a bit much, do you stay the journey and continue telling lies, continue covering up and continue going astray – or will you stop and admit stuff?
These men had gone too far and needed to make sure their own worlds were secure in their own lies. They tried to stop the inevitable! They tried to maintain their own control!
When God says something should be done His way, we need to stop our ways and listen and obey. Doing things God’s way should be the only way we see possible!

Matthew 27:49 The rest said, “Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to save him.”
When you see someone in danger or even in a difficult position, what do you do about it?
Once again, we all like to think we will be the Good Samaritan, but we fail and allow the world to have its own way instead!
God certainly does not need out help, but He does treasure it when we volunteer to come forward in support of Him. He sees what we do, hears what we say and knows what we think.
Go one step further than just trusting and obeying. Be there!

Matthew 27:21 “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” asked the governor. “Barabbas,” they answered.
When we face dangers in our lives, or when we face what seems like insurmountable odds, what are we going to do?
I’m sure we all like to think we can stand up and be counted amongst the righteous, but when we are actually faced by things we do tend to crumble and allow the world to take over once again!
If we give in to the world around us, we may well find ourselves agreeing with stuff we know is wrong or stuff we know we should not be doing.
Take a stand with Christ by your side!

Matthew 26:41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
There are always going to be temptations for us in life, but, with God by our side we should be able to avoid getting into those temptations.
God is not promising us a rosy life where we will see no temptations, but He is promising us the strength and support to not get involved with those temptations.
We have to realise we are inherently weak and we will give into temptations if we do not have the right support – Christ offers us that support, but we still need to take it!

Acts 22:21 “Then the Lord said to me, ‘Go; I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’ ”
What would you do if someone asked you to go to the people you did not like and give them stuff? How about going to your enemies and giving them aid?
God may well ask you to go and do stuff for people who make you uncomfortable – they may well be uncomfortable about you being there…
But the impact of us being there will count for more than someone local doing the same stuff.
God asks some difficult things of us, but He is going to support us all the way. Trust and Obey.

Matthew 15:26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”
Jesus was very good at stopping people in their tracks and forcing them to think about what they were actually doing in their lives.
Here He provokes the woman by talking about the people of Israel as children and the others as dogs.
Her response follows and she uses her masters words to bring out the point further.
We need to look at the realities in life and not just have kind words about things which challenge us.

2 Samuel 9:7 “Don’t be afraid,” David said to him, “for I will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table.”
We often look at David as being a great king who always followed God; truth be told, he had many issues just like the rest of us…
But here we see him putting right something the rest of the country had tried to sweep under the carpet.
We need to stand apart from this world and do what is right – because God says so, not because the country says otherwise.
Listen to your God and obey your God!

Job 29:15 I was eyes to the blind and feet to the lame.
The book of Job is thought to have been the very earliest writing included in the bible, and yet the things it contains are covered throughout the Old and New Testaments.
Right from the early laws to look after the people around you to Jesus’ teaching to love your neighbour; God’s love is echoed everywhere.
Job was a man after God’s heart and lived the life God wished of him: It is not God who will take it all away because He loves us more than we know!
Trust God. Believe God. Listen to God. Love God and love His people!

Leviticus 19:14 Do not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block in front of the blind, but fear your God. I am the Lord.
If you automatically think of the New Testament when you talk about stumbling blocks, it is nothing new…
Right from the beginning God has warned us not to place stumbling blocks in front of those people who cannot yet see the truth.
Behave and allow yourself to be seen as a person who makes a difference, not a person who make chaos.
Don’t stop other people reaching their full potential with God!

Leviticus 10:9 You and your sons are not to drink wine or other fermented drink whenever you go into the tent of meeting, or you will die. This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come
I wonder if you have ever been told that Christians should not drink alcohol…
If we drink anything alcoholic, it will affect our senses and dull our brains. Here, the priests and church leaders were warned not to drink before going into church meetings!
Alcohol has been around for a very long time and has been enjoyed responsibly by many people for many centuries… it is the few who drink in excess who spoil it for everyone.
Be sensible and keep a clear head so you can listen to and obey God.

Isaiah 28:7 And these also stagger from wine and reel from beer: Priests and prophets stagger from beer and are befuddled with wine; they reel from beer, they stagger when seeing visions, they stumble when rendering decisions.
I love the way this seems to be a repetition of a statement; as if to make the point more poignant.
It is not just the strong drink and beer which is going to affect our lives, but anything which we allow to take control.
It could be a sport, hobby, computer game; whatever it is we allow to control our lives, takes us away from the truth and we stumble in our decision making. Make Jesus the centre of your life and make it personal!

Proverbs 23:26 My son, give me your heart and let your eyes delight in my ways
I’m sure you ‘ve heard enough people talk about lusting after things and doing your own stuff because it’s what you like doing… but stop and think a bit about how much you respect God…
Do you flaunt things in front of Him? Do you mistreat others in front of Him? Do you shout at others in from of Him?
You do all things in front of God. He knows what is in your heart and in your mind. Stop a while and give it all over to God because He does know and He cares!

Matthew 15:8 These people honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.
When you talk about doing things for God, do you actually go out and do those things? When you talk about doing things for others. Do you do them?
Jesus was tearing shreds off the Pharisees by showing them how much they were “talking the talk” and not “walking the walk”.
God would rather we be casual doers of the word than constant talkers who do nothing.
Stop talking about it and go out and do it today!

Matthew 15:4 For God said, ‘Honour your father and mother’ and ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’
One of the 10 Commandments may well be to honour your parents, but as Jesus reminds us, it meant a whole lot more back in those days.
Moses was not only given the 10 Commandments but a multitude of rules and regulations; he was given them for a reason!
Honour your Mother today. Think of all you have done to her and how much you can stop and do for her instead. Start today and change the world!

Exodus 32:6 So the next day the people rose early and sacrificed burnt offerings and presented fellowship offerings. Afterward they sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.
When you are eager to do something, does it make you get up earlier in the morning? When you want to do something, what can stop you?
We may well get carried away with things in our lives just because they are there, and they look good. I don’t know what size this golden calf was, but a gold statue will always look good!
But it’s not the good-looking things in life we need to strive after. Aim for God and don’t allow anything to stop you. Be eager. Be ready. Be hopeful!

Galatians 4:29 At that time the son born according to the flesh persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now.
What is one of the major themes we see, right from the beginning of our human existence? Jealousy and persecution against God!
God may have put everything in place, but we have covered things over time and time again with our petty fighting and insults which have even lead to wars!
Do not put aside the things God has put in place just because you want things your own way – God has done this all for a reason and we need to stop and take notice!
