Hebrews 10:28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

In Moses’ time, the witness of two or three people was enough to put someone to death.

How many people know about the things we have done wrong in our lives? How many witnesses could be against us!

God wants us to live by His rules as an example for others, when we give in to sin and temptations, many around us will see the example and know the repercussions!

We do affect many more people than we realise when we go against God’s will and His Word!

Exodus 10:16 Pharaoh quickly summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “I have sinned against the Lord your God and against you.

How many times do you say something just to get yourself out of a situation? I know I have done so far too many times!

Pharaoh continued to try and appease the God of Moses just to keep his people happy and stay in power; on more than one occasion!

God can see through the things we say and do – so let us step forward and try telling the truth, try doing what is righteous!

Exodus 9:27 Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron. “This time I have sinned,” he said to them. “The Lord is in the right, and I and my people are in the wrong.

Did you really mean what you just said? Did you really mean it?

Far too often we blurt out stuff and then regret it afterward because we know in our hearts we don’t mean it – but after the words have already come out, it is a bit late!

God wants us to stop and think about what we say and not just shout out things in the heat of the moment.

Everything He did for us was calculated and deliberate – try following Jesus’ example…

Matthew 27:4 “I have sinned,” he said, “for I have betrayed innocent blood.” “What is that to us?” they replied. “That’s your responsibility.”

What you get from people and what you get from God are two different things entirely! But as Christians we need to stop acting like other people and start acting more like Christ!

Judas tried to stop what he had done wrong by returning the bride and saying that Jesus was innocent; it was men who chose not to believe the truth and wanted their own way instead.

Try to take a step back from situations in your life and make a difference to the way others see the world by being more like Christ today!

Matthew 26:75 Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken: “Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.

What do you do when things go wrong? If you have not been taught anything, then it’s anyone’s guess!

But when we have been exposed to God’s Word and read our bibles, we are going to remember some of those things we have read.

I guess the real test comes down to – will things have to go wrong before we listen to what we have heard, or do step out and try do things right before they go wrong?

John 21:17 The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.

What is your reaction when God continue to ask you something? Do you turn round and get angry at Him, or do you stop and think what He is trying to achieve?

Far too often we react to things in our lives, and sadly, we react to God’s Word too.

What we should be doing, instead, is stopping for a short while and thinking about what God is trying to get from us.

He does know what is best – so it is best to stop and listen!

John 13:18 I am not referring to all of you; I know those I have chosen. But this is to fulfil this passage of Scripture: ‘He who shared my bread has turned against me.’

Just because Christ says we are not all clean does not mean we are all permanently excluded from His life! Far from it, we are all included until we choose to be excluded!

Judas may have sat with Christ and the disciples to eat, drink and live a life of a disciple; but he chose to sin against God by giving in to the temptation of money.

God knew we would all make mistakes and therefore prepared a sacrifice which would be enough to pay for all of our sins once and for all. Accept Jesus as your Saviour!

Psalm 41:9 Even my close friend, someone I trusted, one who shared my bread, has turned against me.

David wrote this many years ago; but we could have, Christ could have, many people could have…

When someone turns their heel against you, it is not just their heel but their whole body; and not just their body, but all who are accomplices in the act!

When we sin, we are bringing sin into our whole life and into the people around us too; God wants us to recognise just how damaging sin is so we work against it and keep up the daily exercise to keep us away from it!

Deuteronomy 32:15 Jeshurun grew fat and kicked; filled with food, they became heavy and sleek. They abandoned the God who made them and rejected the Rock their Saviour.

I love finding snippets like this in the bible! Right from the beginning God has been warning us the Christian life is going to be hard!

An athlete has to continue exercising in order to stay on form; when they stop exercising they may become fat and get lazy and stray away from their career or love for it.

As Christians we need to continue with our daily exercise to make sure we keep on top of things and don’t fall off the rail into temptation.

Yes, it takes work!

Isaiah 53:3 He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.

I still find it amazing how these words were written by a prophet so many years before Jesus came to live amongst us – and how true they are.

Does this not convince you of the great plan God has had from the beginning of time? Does this not encourage you to see just how much God can do for you?

Do not be counted amongst the doubters and scoffers who rejected Christ – be counted in as part of His family… loved!

Matthew 13:57 And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honour except in his own town and in his own home.”

Jesus did not go to bible college to learn the stuff He knew – it came from God Himself.

The people around Him could see the wisdom was there but struggled to see where it could come from without earthly intervention.

Let us not be stuck in the same position of doubting God just because we cannot explain things in earthly terms – God is not of this earth, He created it!

Luke 7:23 Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.

These simple words are interpreted in many fashions by various versions of the bible – but of their root meaning there should be no doubt.

Don’t doubt God. Don’t doubt what He is and what He has done. Don’t doubt what He has promised and what He can do.

The same must be said about Jesus Christ Himself. We have no reason to doubt what He has done for all of us, other than the doubt thrown in there by the evil one – just as it was thrown into Eden between man and God!

Trust God with all your heart and your mind – leave doubt out of it!

Malachi 3:2 But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap.

Before Jesus came to teach the real gospel, message warnings were sent out through the prophets; yet many chose to ignore those warnings at the time.

Today we still face warnings from Christ and still we choose to ignore them… for the same reasons too – it just seems a bit difficult!

When we get shown up, we don’t like it. When people point out our bad ways, we don’t like it.

But, we need to listen to God’s Word. We need to listen to the truth. We need Christ in our lives to help us with this!

1 John 3:2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

It is true Christ has not fully explained what we will become other than a new creation, a new being, a pure being who can live with Him in heaven.

But we do know His promises are sure because we have seen them come to pass time and time again. Each time He gives us a promise, we can know we can depend on it fully.

His promises to the people then are written down in History and recorded as coming true. We know, therefore, those further promises written down in our Bibles are true too!

John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

These words from Jesus take on a new meaning after His resurrection! He has risen and shown us His promises are sure!

Now, He is promising to go and prepare a place for us in heaven; and if we see Him do that, we will know He is going to come back again someday to collect us.

He is risen! He is coming again. This is His promise to us; a promise made on an action which was yet to come but has now been completed!

1 Thessalonians 5:23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We may get ourselves in a pickle and imagine all manner of things, coming up with conspiracies which beggar belief… but God remains the same, now and forever!

He wants to present you blameless before God. He wants you to be with Him in heaven. He wants you by His side!

He has accomplished all of this through what He has done for us about 1985 years ago. Trust Him and see your world change!

Luke 24:6 He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee:

Can you imagine an April Fool joke which is just so wrong or such bad taste? I’m sure we could each come up with something we would never dare to do!

I wonder what was going through Jesus’ followers when they found out His body was no longer in the tomb! Was this a joke? A Trick? Another government cover-up?

No. Jesus did what was surprising to all because He has the power to do things! He did this all for us and He wants us to know the truth.

Jesus is risen! Allelujah!

Luke 23:56 Then they went home and prepared spices and perfumes. But they rested on the Sabbath in obedience to the commandment.

What are you doing this Easter Holidays? I certainly hope you have time to stop and take a break!

No matter what is going on in our lives, we all need to take time out and recuperate from all the hard work.

God has given us enough time. We should be wise and take that time to rest with Him!

Luke 23:22 For the third time he spoke to them: “Why? What crime has this man committed? I have found in him no grounds for the death penalty. Therefore I will have him punished and then release him.”

There are going to be times in your life when you try to do the right thing but the world seems against you in every way; what do you do?

No matter what position you hold in life, there is always room to give in to the crowd just because they are the loudest at the time; but there is also room to do what is righteous.

How do you choose? Give it up to God and allow Him to guide you in your decision making. If you are not already asking God for His guidance, then now is the time.

Jesus was obedient, even in this time of strife!

Luke 22:15 And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.

Have you stopped to think what this meal meant to Jesus? Yes, there was all the pomp and ceremony when He entered Jerusalem and all the commotion which was about to follow… but this was His time with His disciples.

There is nothing like a meal around a table to bring people together and to mark special occasions. Jesus wanted this time to be with those who had supported Him during His short ministry.

Take time to make sure you allow God’s Word to settle in your heart. Spend some time with Christ – just you and Him. Make your relationship with Him personal; it is what he wants!
