Hebrews 9:26 He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

The high priests had to offer themselves as well as their sacrifices often to appease God. The sacrifice was an offering for the sin and if that was not sufficient then their lives were on the line as they entered the Most Holy place.

Jesus Christ came and offered up a perfect sacrifice which was sufficient for all sin for all mankind.

That is how much God loves us and continues to love us; that single sacrifice was enough for all sin!

Titus 3:3 For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.

When we talk about God loving us first we should always remember what we were like! We may not all have been as bad as some of the words that describe mankind, but we certainly were not angelic in our behaviour!

But even through that all, God chose to love us before we knew Him. He chose to love us in spite of all that we did wrong. He chose to love us knowing there was good inside of us.

Should we not have the same attitude toward others?

1 John 4:19 We love Him because He first loved us.

Real love is something that we all can experience in our lives if we are willing to go that extra step and take it on!

God’s love for us is unconditional, has no end, has no limit and is so full that we cannot fully understand it.

But when we are willing to accept it we can then grow in our love for Him as we see how much He cares for us.

Real love does not fear what may happen but embraces every step that does happen.

Jeremiah 31:3 The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.

God’s love is eternal and without limit. That in itself is a very hard concept for us to grasp because we always seem to get to the end of things in our lives.

But God has demonstrated His love toward His people over and over again and even after all the trouble and strife we have caused Him, His love continues!

I am thankful that there is no limit to His love, but I do try hard not to stretch it to breaking point!

Job 22:26 For then you will have your delight in the Almighty, and lift up your face to God.

When Eliphaz accused Job of wickedness he also said that if Job turned away from it and back to God that God would finally love him again. That is not true!

God loves us today just as He loved mankind in the beginning. Yes, each of us does incredibly stupid things at times and we make Him sad; but He still loves us!

God’s love will never stop and He will not turn His back on us. Ever!

Psalm 119:6 Then I would not be ashamed, when I look into all Your commandments.

It is great to get to know God’s Word and to follow it because when you do you will never be ashamed of being able to follow God’s Commandments!

It is great to separate yourself from the strange laws that man comes up with in trying to get his own way in the world.

There is always something in life we don’t want to do for other people, but we should be more than willing to do anything for God (as long as it is His will and not something you have made up!)

1 John 2:3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.

If we are struggling to keep God’s Commandments then we may well be focusing on other things in our lives; not it is not a cut and dry comparison.

The evil one will try to use everything in our lives to make us lose concentration and drift away from God. God wants us to think about Him always.

When we are thinking about God we will be more prone to follow what He has taught us rather than the world and all its trimmings.

Keep God in your heart and obey Him for a better life!

Psalm 119:102 I have not departed from Your judgments, for You Yourself have taught me.

It is a brave person who will say that they have not broken God’s Laws! We all have and we all will probably do so again in our lives.

But that should not stop us from drawing closer to God or from asking Him for forgiveness.

It is Christ who demonstrated just how willing he is to forgive us by giving His life for us.

Let us try harder to keep within God’s rules.

Psalm 71:17 O God, You have taught me from my youth; and to this day I declare Your wondrous works.

When you hear good things about God, do you rush out to tell others?

When you get to know something new about God, do you rush out and tell anyone?

When you find a new snippet of truth about God, do you share it?

God would love it if we all shared the things that he does in our lives because that would help to encourage others. Be honest and open about what God does in your life.

1 Samuel 2:2 “No one is holy like the Lord, for there is none besides You, nor is there any rock like our God.

When Hannah had her prayers answered by God she had no problem with exalting Him; and she did not forget her vow to God either.

How many times do we ask for something and then when we get it run off and be so happy that we forget to thank the one who made it all possible?

I know that I do still forget to thank God for things, but I am getting better in making sure that I thank Him first of all for my life and all He gives me.

I love God and know that He cares for me. That gives me more reason to thank Him daily.

Deuteronomy 32:4 He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He.

Our God is awesome!

I love to be reminded about the things that God has done for us over all the time that people have been able to write things down. I love to hear about the things that God continues to do nowadays.

But most of all I love to know that God is my Rock upon which I can stand proud and know that I will not fall.

I know I still get things wrong and do things wrong, but I know that God knows that too.

Psalm 31:5 Into Your hand I commit my spirit; you have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.

King David had plenty of things to be afraid of in his life and not just the enemies from other countries but from inside his own family as well.

David did not turn round and blame God every time things went wrong; he instead asked for help, guidance and protection.

And it was not just his physical protection he prayed for but his spiritual protection as well.

As Christians we stand against a very real enemy and need God’s constant protection.

1 Peter 4:19 Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.

What happens when things go wrong? What happens when you suffer? Does this mean God is against you?

Hopefully you too will see that God is not against you and that life just happens to suck at times!

God is faithful. God is good. God is real. God has not forsaken you.

If we are willing to put up with life just so that we can be with God then we will find out just how awesome He is as our creator God!

1 Corinthians 4:12 And we labour, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure;

Paul continued to work at various times to make sure he was not a burden to the local people. He tried to make sure that he worked for his necessities when required.

Does this mean that we should all be working? That question is individual and needs to be answered only in the context of the work Christ has called you to do.

But don’t put down others just because they put you down. Don’t persecute others because they persecute you.

Bless people and encourage others just as Christ has taught us to do!

Ephesians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints who are in Ephesus, and faithful in Christ Jesus:

Whenever Paul wrote to other churches and from churches he always included everyone in his message. This was not to make sure that nobody got left out but to continue following Christ’s teaching.

God taught him to greet all saints in Christ and to encourage the gathering together of the saints; that means everyone in the church!

Don’t leave people out because you don’t like them or their ways. If they are working for Christ them they are on the same side.

Include people who would otherwise be excluded. Remember the people who stand up for Christ. Glorify God in everything.

Philippians 4:21 Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren who are with me greet you.

When we meet other Christians it should not be with a clock of judgment on but with an open and loving heart we great them.

It is not for us to say that we are any greater a believer than anyone else since we cannot search the hearts of others; but Christ can and does.

Being able to encourage other Christians in their walk with Christ is important and needs to be show by all and not just the leaders of churches or those in charge.

1 Corinthians 1:22 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom;

The Jews had been shown many signs and miracles by God in their past and they had grown to expect signs and miracles before they would believe.

The Greeks were after anything that would give them more wisdom and knowledge; they wanted to master the world.

We should simply be seeking Christ and not chasing after signs from God or earthly treasures and goals.

Being with Christ in heaven should be our ultimate goal.

Acts 20:21 testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

When you get good news, who is the first person you will tell? I have a few people who I always try to get a message to when something really good happens; but I always thank God!

When we hear the good news, the Gospel, we should be wanting to take that news and go and tell as many people as we can.

Paul may have had a rough time with the Jews but he was still willing to teach them about Christ after he found out the good news. We should be willing to go out to tell everyone too.

Matthew 13:46 who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

Chances are that if you found a treasure you would go out of your way to find more at the same place, or even sell everything to buy the field where you found it… But the likelihood of that happening is fairly small in reality!

What would you be willing to do to gain more of the treasure that God gives us through Jesus Christ?

Are you willing to give up everything just to gain eternal life through Christ?

Proverbs 23:23 Buy the truth, and do not sell it, also wisdom and instruction and understanding.

How willing are you to find out the truth? How willing are you to make a stand against the normal and find out what is actually going on?

It is so much easier just to go along with what is happening and make up your own mind than to stop and find out the truth; especially if we have to pay for it!

Buying the truth may well be the only way we get to hear it. Be willing to find it and if necessary purchase it too.

When you do find the truth you will not be sorry for having to spend a little.
