John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Have you ever tried to go somewhere only to find your way completely blocked off? How frustrated were you?

There is no way into Heaven except through Jesus Christ – He gave His life so we can get there, but we still have to go through Him!

If you don’t know the person on the door, then how are you going to get in? Trusting and believing in Jesus is very easy – it’s what follow which often frightens people!

1 Peter 2:1 Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.

I really don’t like watching the news because it makes me mad! I think most news channels have so much to answer for because of their deceit.

I know we are all guilty of deceit because we like to have our own ideas heard above others, but as we go into another period of self-isolation I find more people loosing track of their morals and saying things they ought not to.

Father forgive us because we don’t really know what we are saying and doing during this pandemic. Help us to trust in YOU!

Psalm 31:21 Praise be to the Lord, for he showed me the wonders of his love when I was in a city under siege.

When you are up against the wall, trapped by human conditions or everything seems helpless, you still have God with you.

It will seem like a hollow promise until you have experienced the wonder of God’s protection; but you don’t have to get to the stage of requiring help before you get help!

God wants to be able to help and protect us right from the start and not only when we get backed up into a corner.

Allow God to show you His wonders while we still have hope!

Psalm 31:8 You have not given me into the hands of the enemy but have set my feet in a spacious place.

One of the best feelings in this world is the realisation of how God is protecting you – as it says here, you feel like you have been moved from a confined space into a clear room, free!

If you are feeling like you are trapped in a situation where you see no way out and you see no end to the torment, I challenge you to give it directly to God…

Don’t hold onto part of it you think you can manage, but give it totally and completely to God and ask Him for freedom from you trap!

Psalm 29:11 The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.

God has chosen the people He wants to follow Him, and one of those people is YOU!

We are surrounded by the world and all that is wrong in it, and yet we are given the strength to cope with things and the peace to live with them.

I thank God I am given the strength and peace to deal with things and I lift up my prayers daily asking Him to give that strength and peace to so many more people who are suffering so much during this pandemic!

Pray with me...

Isaiah 26:12 Lord, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us.

When the whole world seems to be going nuts, you can always turn to God and rest in His arms…

One of the things I have learned to do is to trust God alone to give me peace and comfort – my life literally belongs to Him!

Everything we have and everything we see is because God has allowed it to be so – He gives us so much more than we can know and more than we acknowledge!

Stop and start thanking Him for the little things you have right now.

Luke 10:3 Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.

When Jesus asked a few dozen people to go out and spread the gospel He did not gloss over things and tell them it was all going to be easy work; He warned them of the dangers!

There is a whole lot of work to do as Christians in this world – God promised His gospel would be told all over the world and He has tasked us, mankind, with doing that!

We go out as the people of peace into neighbourhoods where there is violence and fighting, danger and pitfalls… but we go out together with Christ who stays by our sides and helps guide us where we are needed most of all.

Matthew 11:10 This is the one about whom it is written: ‘I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.’

Do you realise God has a plan for you in this world? Do you know what that plan is yet? Well, it has already started – we just have to continue on and obey…

John had no problems with doing God’s will, and, even though he did not dress up like the Scribes and Pharisees, he was regarded as a prophet at that time!

God has already put the right people in the right place for you to do your work for Him – look around you and see who is being guided by God!

Acts 19:4 Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”

It’s not all about going to church and saying the right prayers at the right time and chewing on a wafer and sipping a bit of wine…

I believe being a Christian at home is a whole lot easier than not being a Christian during these times because I have a firm hope in Jesus Christ and what He has already done – some people don’t have that hope yet!

Show someone today you believe in Christ and allow them to see your inner joy because of that simple fact!

Acts 2:12 Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?”

How often do you try to analyse what is happening in your life – are you totally confounded why there is this horrible virus spreading all round the world?

I am one who tries to analyse things, but quite often reach the point where I cannot explain what is happening so have to rely on biblical explanations: God has control!

Sometime we just have to have faith in God and wait on Him to give us the answers – He is able to and will use anyone He can to achieve His goals.

Listen out for what He is doing around you!

3 John 1:13 I have much to write you, but I do not want to do so with pen and ink.

How much are you longing to be able to talk to someone face to face, not over Zoom or any other online meeting place, but physically face to face?

Sometimes there are those special words which demand you being face to face with someone so they can see the sincerity from your face rather than over the wire.

God is with us every day as we struggle being home alone, and He knows what we need. Keep trusting in Him and waiting patiently for His timing...

3 John 1:9 I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will not welcome us.

I wonder, have you got someone in your life who just demands to be first or best all the time? I have quickly learned to not give them the earthly attention they crave but to give them Christian love instead.

You may have realised by now that I do not like to be negative about  things in my life – especially people.

God chose us – mankind. Which means I have no right to promote myself above the position God gives me and no right to judge people either!

2 John 1:4 It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us.

One of my greatest joys is to hear when people I have met in my life have turned to God; the joy it brings me will never cease to amaze me!

It may not be our task to bash people over the head with words from the bible, but to simply love them in a way they have not experienced before because they are trapped in the nonchalance of the world!

God’s love is so much more than the world can offer – but we have to share it so others can experience it too!

1 John 1:4 We write this to make our joy complete.

Do you like making people happy? I know I do and I often go out of my way just to do something for someone because I know they will enjoy it in some way…

What greater joy is there than knowing the full extent of the love of God in your life?

I challenge you to share your joy with someone today – heaven knows we all need it during these times… but make it the sharing of the love of your life and in your life...

Psalm 32:7 You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

One thing we can be sure of is there will always be trouble in this world – we are surrounded by sin, sinful ways and trouble in general, no matter where we are.

Even being stuck at home alone you are exposed to trouble the news and the Internet – we cannot get away from it.

But we do have a protector who is willing to stand with us and guide us through the trouble – if we listen.

John 9:37 Jesus said, “You have now seen him; in fact, he is the one speaking with you.”

What will it take for you to follow Christ without question? Do you have to have a personal miracle before you believe?

We have learned to be wary of so many things in life that it is hard to believe in things sometimes.

I encourage you each to read a couple of verses a day to find out what God is already doing in your life without you realising it yet…

I love reading my bible and finding snippets which make me realise how God is always with us!

John 11:25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;

When Jesus was trying to comfort the sisters of Lazarus he spoke some very profound words here to Martha which may well gave gone over the heads of some people…

Whomever is willing to believe in Jesus as our Saviour, will live… even though we will die physically, our souls are going to live on forever with Him!

Martha knew this and believed it, but still limited it to her own physical life and situation; Jesus was about to open the gospel of ‘no limits’ when He brought Lazarus back to life!

John 5:21 For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it.

Jesus stamped His authority in these few words, but still gives the ultimate glory to God His Father.

Jesus is the Son of God and deserves our praise and glory, and yet He chose to come into our lives and give His life for us. He chose to be our Saviour.

His love was displayed through how He lived and how He healed people wherever He went – because He loves His people, us!

Colossians 2:13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins

This, to me, is still the greatest show of love from God we could ever hope for and one which goes far and beyond our human understanding…

When we were at our lowest point, at our most corrupt point, in the depths of a sinful life, God chose us!

Not only did He choose us, but Christ forgave us of the sins He knew we were getting into. No sin is too much for the love of Christ to cover!

Psalms 51:9 Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.

This is the hope we have in Jesus Christ. This is the embodiment of the promise God gave us! He is willing and able to forgive us of any sin which we are willing to admit to Him and lay it down before Him.

Yes, it’s hard! None of us like to admit to doing things wrong and none of us like to look bad – but by bringing our sins to God, He is able to wash them away totally!

Christ has paid for our sins on the cross so we do not have to endure sham for what we have done, as long as we bring them to Him!
