John 7:41 Others said, “He is the Messiah.” Still others asked, “How can the Messiah come from Galilee?
The people from Galilee must had had a bad reputation with the Jewish leaders, one which prevented them from seeing how their own Messiah could possible come from there!
Sometimes we too have blinkers on because we think other people are not worthy or we think we know they are bad…
I still get things wrong and I still have to catch myself from pre-judging others just because they come from a different place to me… even though I am the foreigner in this land!

Psalm 104:31 May the glory of the Lord endure forever; may the Lord rejoice in his works
Let us rejoice in the world God has given us and allow us to praise Him for all He does in the natural world around us!
After so long having been in hospital and recovery afterward, after so long of my garden being neglected, it continues to thrive during spring time and amazes me!
God has surely given us something to be proud of and something to look after and cherish. Stop and give time to the natural world around you today… and praise God for giving this all to you!

Acts 2:21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
One of the greatest things I have ever done is to accept Christ as my Lord and Saviour – the impact of which is not lost on me even after so many years of being a Christian!
The longer I live with Christ the more I realise I cannot survive without Him in my life; not just physically but spiritually and emotionally too!
It is God who tries to keep me together – even s I stumble around and break things, He continues to hold out His arms and try to guide me every day!

Acts 2:4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
Imagine waking up in the morning and being able to speak another language! What would you do with this gift?
Each of the disciples went out and taught others the gospel and what Jesus could do in people’s lives.
Ever wonder why God doesn’t give you another language to speak? Maybe He wants you to tell the people you already know about the gospel!

Genesis 46:2 And God spoke to Israel in a vision at night and said, “Jacob! Jacob!” “Here I am,” he replied.
What goes through your head at night? What do you think of as you go to bed? Who is at the front of your mind?
God calls us into a personal relationship with Him and expects us to have Him on our mind all the time, just as He has us on His mind all the time!
Unless we are willing to listen out for Him all the time, then we may well miss out on the times when He is trying to call us!
Jacob was ready to listen to God all the time – are you?

Luke 15:21 The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
There are going to be times when we think we deserve to be put aside or left alone. There are going to be times when we think we should just be ignored…
But God is the Good Shepherd who is constantly on the lookout for anyone who wonders off and wants to bring them home.
No matter what we get up to or where we go, God will follow us and try to bring us home.
But, He does not drag us home kicking and screaming, He patiently shows us the way home and waits with open arms...

Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Living in the Western world allow us to feel a sense of freedom and safety which is not enjoyed by many people around the world – just because we live under the umbrella of a powerful nation or group of nations.
But take a step back and go through history to find out how many great dynasties and nations crumbled… Except one…
God continues to be here and continues to make sure we survive no matter what goes on in the world. With God on our side, who can rise up against us? Who?

1 John 3:11 For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
How many times have you read parts of the Old Testament and thought it was only about wars or hatred?
The wars and disquiet we hear all through our bibles are the result of the actions of men, not what God has asked for from the beginning…
God continues to try and allow us to see that loving our neighbours is what He has encouraged all throughout history – but we choose to focus on the wars and lies and deception instead of the truths He speaks.
Stop listening to the lies and speak out in truth – you will then find it easier to do what God asks.

John 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.
When Jesus was lifting up His prayers to God, He described the disciples as being ‘not of this world.’
This is a label all Christians should strive for – to be known as a person who is not worldly, not consumed by the world and peer pressure but always praising God.
Jesus wanted the disciples to be absolutely safe. Ne way would be for them to go to heaven immediately, but instead He asks for God’s protection while they are on earth.
This protection covers us all because of this prayer asked for from Jesus!

Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.
When I read this verse it reminds me of a chorus we used to sing with the children by Maynard’s Groovy Bible Tunes!
As a child I probably would have not understood the gravity of this statement and as an Adult I often overlook it; but it is so very important!
Jesus came to search for the lost people, to look for them, to make disciples who would carry on the work and make sure it never ends.
He gave His life so He could save us all. It is done!

Psalm 68:5 A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.
God is father to the fatherless, defender of the defenceless, provider for the poor and homeless!
We don’t always see how He does things, but we always see the results of what He has done.
We don’t always attribute what has happened to God because we don’t always see it at first.
Take a bit of time and see what God is doing in your life without you realising!

1 John 4:19 We love because he first loved us.
As Christians we need to take full hold of this love God is giving us and share it with the people round us.
Let us put aside our likes and dislikes in preference to God’s love.
Let us put aside our hatred and embody God’s love.
Let us look around us and do things for and with our neighbours because of this love!
All because He started loving us first of all...

1 Corinthians 13:8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
All of these things we see, enjoy and even cherish as Christians here on earth will come to an end at some stage… but love does not!
All the prophecies will eventually be fulfilled and hence come to and end; and then we face Christ and our eternity in Heaven!
God’s love for us has no bounds, is not limited to this earth and has no end like earthly issues - we are living in His love now and forever!

Romans 10:12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile - the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him
I marvel at the faithfulness of God! I know I don’t deserve half of what He gives me and I know I have fallen short of His laws many times in my life…
But, throughout this all, He continues to wait on me and to answer my prayers when I call on Him to do so!
It does not matter I was not born as part of a Jewish family or one which is a direct descendant of one of the twelve tribes of Israel – God still loves me and still listens to and answers my prayers!
Believe!

Colossians 3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
If, like me, you sometimes have trouble controlling your heart or your thoughts, then I would say you are quite normal!
We were wonderfully created by God but we have learned to do so much more than we thought was possible to start with – this gives us food for thought and makes us wonder what we are capable of!
But it all starts with the seeds in your heart and mind – so plant the seed of Gods grace and truth, culture the seeds of innocence and peace and grow with Gods design!

Psalm 66:20 Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!
What an awesome God we have – one who is patient and forgiving! No matter how deep we get into things, He is always there and always cares!
Lift up your praise to God – not because you have had to face horrible times or had to face danger or anything bad, but because He was faithful to stand by you!
Don't look down and try to find God in your sorrow, lift up your praise with us as we see God for who He really is!

Psalm 66:5 Come and see what God has done, his awesome deeds for mankind!
Have you ever sat down and thought about how much God has done for us – even though we have run off in the opposite direction so many times!
Sometimes it has to be someone else who will point out something God has done because we are walking round with our eyes or hearts shut!
Open your eyes and open your hearts to what God is doing in your life. Don’t be distracted by the things of this world going wrong around you...

Acts 17:30 In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.
There is coming a time when we are going to have to answer to God for the things we have done in our lives – I’m not thinking of the outright sins but rather the nonchalance and ignorance!
We have no real excuse not to listen to what God is saying because we are being hit from all sides by so much media which God continues to try and allow us to hear.
It is our choice whether we listen to Him or go off and listen to the world and all the corruption which follows… Choose wisely!

Isaiah 25:6 On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine - the best of meats and the finest of wines.
As we all remain indoors and wonder what is going to happen to us in this world, I still look up to God and seek His blessings.
Can you imagine what it will be like to have a big party once again? I know we may well have to live with this virus for a long time, but no matter what goes wrong – God is still with us.
Trust in God. Listen to Him. Don’t be foolish and run out and have a party on the hilltops just because you are a Christian… be sensible because you are a Christian!

Proverbs 10:9 Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.
When we do things wrong, we not only are breaking laws but we are also hurting our mental and spiritual selves – never mind sinning against God!
None of us can turn round and say we are doing things right and will not get into trouble; not because we live in countries where the laws are all wrong, but because we think we can get away with little things.
The more little things we do wrong, the more we are convinced we can get away with more – and the more we get into trouble in the end…
Lets just try starting off on the right foot...
