Psalm 40:15 May those who say to me, ‘Aha! Aha!’ be appalled at their own shame.
Have you ever blamed someone else for something only to have your own faults highlighted instead?
God alone has the right to judge us because He alone is without sin!
Make sure you get things straight with God before you go about blaming other people!

Hebrews 8:13 By calling this covenant ‘new’, he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.
How many times have you read parts of the Old Testament and wondered how God could do things like that?
God knows what is best in all situations because He is not bound by time or mankind.
Listening and obeying God should always come first in our lives because He did what was right!

Psalm 47:9 The nobles of the nations assemble as the people of the God of Abraham, for the kings of the earth belong to God; he is greatly exalted.
Which side of the fence are you on, or are you trying to sit on the fence?
God does not want us on the fence, nor on the other side… but on His side.
The way He can help us best of all is when we are on the same side of the fence as Him!

Hebrews 10:8 First he said, ‘Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them’– though they were offered in accordance with the law.
When the disciple wrote these words, I’m sure he chose them carefully so as to not upset the Hebrew people – but the truth has a habit of upsetting people no matter what!
God does not want us to do things because it is written down in scrolls or books of law…
He wants us to do things because we love Him and want to obey Him.

Acts 9:17 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, ‘Brother Saul, the Lord – Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here – has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.’
Ananias went to Paul with a message from God; all he could do was to deliver the message…
What God did because of that message was to remove the doubt and spiritual blindness from Paul’s eyes and heart.
We deliver the message – God uses the message to change people from the inside out.

Mark 4:22 For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open.
How many times have you used a torch or lamp to read a book or letter?
If we want to learn new things we need to study and find out about them.
That starts from shining a light on the subject.

Psalm 37:40 The Lord helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.
When we place our trust in God, He will never let us down.
Our friends and family may well let us down because of circumstances beyond their control…
God is able to overcome anything and will not have anything outside of His control!

Hebrews 11:17 By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son
One of the most difficult things to do is to say to God “Here I am, use me!”
Well, it may be easy to say the words, but to mean them is very different.
Take a few people from the Bible who have said “Yes Lord!” and try to do what they have done...

Psalm 36:10 Continue your love to those who know you, your righteousness to the upright in heart.
The psalmist asks God to continue loving the people who are willing to show their love for God and those who are upright in heart.
When we give God the glory He alone deserves, He acknowledges us as His children…
What better acknowledgement than being acknowledged as a child of God!

Psalm 22:25 From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly; before those who fear you I will fulfil my vows.
When someone asks you to do something for them, what do you do?
Do you make excuses and try to do your own thing, or do you listen and try to help where you can?
God has asked each one of us to love and help our neighbours.
Will you?

Hebrews 12:14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.
Why do you think Jesus told us we were to love our neighbours… and even our enemies?
How can we expect God to love us if we are not going to try and draw close to Him?
To draw closer to Him we need to be not guilty – which means we need Christ to forgive us!

Psalm 48:1 Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise, in the city of our God, his holy mountain.
What separates us more than a mountain which we think we cannot climb?
God wants us to draw close to Him and to do that He is willing to give us all the rope we need…
But we still have to grasp that rope!

How often have you demanded something of God because you really needed it?
How often have you stopped to listen for an answer from Him?
Stop shouting and start listening!

Hebrews 13:15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise – the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.
God would like us to praise Him at all times, not just on Sunday, not just in a church building, not just when we pray…
We can praise Him through everything we do by acknowledging Him as our creator God!
Jesus has give us direct access to Him to do this...

Mark 5:14 You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.
I don’t know if you have ever been outside on a very dark night where there are no lights – you can see where the towns are by the glow they give off even when they are below the horizon!
God has given us a little light to shine out into a dark world…
Don’t try hide you light but let it shine!

Have you ever tried to explain to someone how the earth hangs in the middle of nowhere and nothing…
That is essentially what the earth is – but God created it like that and it still is the same as He created it!

Genesis 1:31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning – the sixth day.
What was a day back then? Well, it was the time it took for the sun to rise and fall and come round again…
How long was it in hours? Time keeps on changing. The more scientists try and understand time, the more confused many get…
God is not bound by time as we know it in the modern world because He created it in the beginning…
Don’t get too hung up about time!
