Psalm 139:14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

I can remember learning this for a children’s bible club we had when we were impressing on children just why we do what we do as Christians.

We don’t do things to be better than others, to get prizes from God, or other selfish things; we do what we do because we have got to know God and what He is capable of.

We have a God who loves us and shares this world with us. A God who shares His love with us, freely and openly.

We should be imitators of His actions and not just with words.

Jonah 2:7 When my life was ebbing away, I remembered you, Lord, and my prayer rose to you, to your holy temple.

Don’t be a Jonah and wait until the last second before you make a decision to call on God; make it now and call out to Him!

God does not want you to wait until there is nothing left of you before you make the decision to follow Him; He would rather see you make the decision when you are on a high – that way He sees how confident you are of making the right choice.

The worse our lives get the less we do tend to think about God for help, so we may well lose out on a lot of help along the way – until we hit rock bottom and call out to Him in desperation…

Psalm 18:6 In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.

No matter where you are on this planet, or off of it if you’re an astronaut, God will always hear your prayers!

We can see how God hears and answers prayer in many parts of the bible, from Jesus praying alone on top of the mountain to David calling out in the depths of a cave – God still hears and answers.

Do not be afraid that God is not going to listen; rather, have absolute faith He hears and is going to answer – that is what we are taught, but far too often forget!

Psalm 130:1 Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;

Do we have to go up on top of a mountain to pray like Jesus did? No. Our prayers can be lifted up to Him wherever we are.

But not all places are ideal for prayer because of the noise and interruptions which surround us daily. Jesus knew the right spot where people would likely not follow Him.

Do you have a spot where you can take time out and go to talk with God, alone? Why not make a plan to spend more time each day with God, away from the crowd.
