Luke 3:22 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”

I love the different accounts of Jesus coming to be baptized by John in the gospels. This account in Luke is just so ‘matter of fact!’

Just as a parent is pleased of things their children do which are right, so is God pleased when His children do righteous acts!

We have a loving Father who is watching over us every step of the way and trying hard to protect us in all ways.

When we listen and obey – He is ‘well pleased!’

Matthew 3:13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John.

Even though Jesus knew He was the Son of God, did miracles, healed the sick and preached the gospel, He still came to be baptised by John!

Did He have to be? No! He did this as a choice in His life. Just as we do not have to be baptised but can choose to be.

What we do in our lives becomes a beacon to others where they can be encouraged and lifted up.

It brought me to tears standing outside on Thursday as people all round the UK stood outside their houses and clapped and cheers for the NHS staff.

Show your love for others through the things you do!

John 10:41 and many people came to him. They said, “Though John never performed a sign, all that John said about this man was true.”

How often do you dismiss something someone has said just because it sounds unbelievable?

I know I am guilty of this a lot because I always like to see proof in one form or another – for me the proof Christ is real came from seeing how my prayers were answered by Him.

God is able and willing to do so much more than we can imagine – it is time to place your faith and trust firmly in His hands and allow Him to be God of all of us!

John 10:11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

How many people have you had who have come forward to help you or your family lately? I am pleasantly surprised how many people do reach out to offer help to others.

Many people here in the UK have been told they should not leave their homes for 12 weeks – my father being one of them – because the government cannot assure their safety.

But, our Lord and Saviour, was willing to lay down His life to make sure we live forever in Heaven.

What are you doing to keep yourself safe? What are you doing to keep others safe?
